ConnectionCleanup

Step-by-step

Get your LinkedIn data export

ConnectionCleanup works from the official data export LinkedIn gives every member. Requesting it takes about a minute; LinkedIn then prepares the file and emails you. Usually quickly, but allow up to 24–48 hours. Request it now, come back when the email lands.

  1. 1

    Open LinkedIn's data export page

On LinkedIn, click your profile photo (Me) → Settings & Privacy → Data privacy → “Get a copy of your data”. Or go directly to linkedin.com/mypreferences/d/download-my-data while logged in.

  2. 2

    Select just the Connections file

Choose “Want something in particular?” and tick only Connections. You don't need the full archive; the connections file alone is faster for LinkedIn to prepare.

  3. 3

Request the archive and wait for LinkedIn's email

Click “Request archive”. LinkedIn prepares the file and emails you a download link, usually within 10 minutes for connections-only requests, but allow up to 24–48 hours. The download link works for 72 hours.

  4. 4

    Download and unzip

The download is a small .zip containing Connections.csv. Unzip it; that CSV is the only file ConnectionCleanup needs.

  5. 5

    Upload it to ConnectionCleanup

Come back here, open the app, and drag Connections.csv in. Analysis runs instantly, entirely in your browser. If you have an older export lying around too, upload it as well to unlock change-over-time detection.

While you wait, let us watch the clock

We'll email you in 24 hours to check whether your export has landed, with a link straight back to the upload.

LinkedIn's steps above are current as of July 2026; if their settings UI looks different, search their help center for “download your data”.
